A group of students participates in the BCDR’s international arbitration training program

A group of students participated in the second and third modules of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution's (BCDR-AAA) International Arbitration Training Program from 27 until 29 October 2015 at the premises of the BCDR-AAA. The program, which is taught in Arabic, is made up of three modules, with each module consisting of 12 training hours and spanning over two days. The training program was launched on 6 September 2014 as part of BCDR-AAA's efforts to develop local and regional legal expertise in international arbitration, and to spread awareness of arbitration as a viable dispute resolution alternative.

The first module provides an overview of arbitration and discusses issues related to the agreement to arbitrate. The second module covers the establishment and organization of an arbitral tribunal and the conduct of the arbitration proceedings. The third module deals with the enforcement and the annulment of arbitral awards.

The program was taught by Dr. Adnan Amkhan Beno, Visiting Professor at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Kent (Brussels), Dr. Hamzah Haddad, Founder and Managing Director of the Law and Arbitration Center and the Arab Institute for Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Settlement in Jordan, and Professor Nassib G. Ziadé, CEO of the BCDR-AAA and Visiting Professor of Investment Arbitration at the University of Miami School of Law and Professor of International Arbitration at the Faculty of Law of Saint-Joseph University in Beirut. The program was made possible through support by Tamkeen for Bahraini candidates.
