13th biennial IFCAI conference in Bahrain

Co-organized with the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA), the 13th Biennial International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI) Conference took place on March 23, 2015 in Manama, Bahrain. The event attracted over 160 leading academic figures and arbitration experts from more than 24 countries.

The International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI) hosts an international conference every two years at a different venue. We are pleased to announce that the forthcoming Biennial IFCAI Conference will be held for the first time ever in an Arab Gulf country, namely Bahrain, on 23 March 2015, in association with the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA). First issue of the BCDR International Arbitration Review published

The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) has launched a new publication, the BCDR International Arbitration Review, which is published by Wolters Kluwer. The Review is edited by Prof. Nassib G. Ziadé, CEO of the BCDR-AAA. The Review’s Advisory Board, which comprises leading practitioners and academics in the field of international arbitration, includes Dr. Mohamed Abdel Raouf, Shaikha Haya Bint Rashid Al Khalifa, Mr. Essam Al Tamimi, Dr. Yas Banifatemi, Prof. Laurence Boisson de Chazournes, Mr. Lawrence Boo, Dr. Olufemi Elias, Dr. Hamzah Haddad, Prof. Azzedine Kettani, Mr. Makhdoom Ali Khan, Prof. Carolyn B. An ICCA dialogue on the New York Convention organized in Manama in cooperation with the BCDR

From 3 to 5 May 2014, an International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) dialogue on the 1958 New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards brought together judges from the appeal and cassation courts of 13 Arab countries and formulated recommendations to improve the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in the Arab world. The dialogue was organized by Prof. Nassib G. Ziadé, CEO of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA), and Prof. Marike Paulsson, a member of ICCA’s Judiciary Committee.
