The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA), in conjunction with the Investment Treaty Forum (ITF) of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL), will be holding a four-day (6 to 9 December 2015) intensive course on International Investment Arbitration specifically tailored for the MENA region, followed by a one-day (10 December 2015) conference.

The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) released today the second issue of the BCDR International Arbitration Review, which is published by Wolters Kluwer. The Review was launched last year, and its first issue was published in September 2014.

The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) is pleased to announce that its Arabic translation of ICCA’s Guide to the Interpretation of the 1958 New York Convention is now available. A draft translation of the Guide was previously distributed to Arab judges who attended the ICCA dialogue on the New York Convention organized in Manama in cooperation with the BCDR-AAA from 3 to 5 May 2014. 

The International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI), founded in 1985 and consisting of fifty-eight arbitration institution members, held its Council and its General Assembly meetings on 24 March 2015 in the offices of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) in Manama, Bahrain on the occasion of the 13th Biennial IFCAI Conference.

The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) today released a new book, “Festschrift Ahmed Sadek El-Kosheri: From the Arab World to the Globalization of International Law and Arbitration,” in honor of Dr. Ahmed El-Kosheri – a renowned Arab judge and arbitrator.

Co-organized with the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA), the 13th Biennial International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI) Conference took place on March 23, 2015 in Manama, Bahrain. The event attracted over 160 leading academic figures and arbitration experts from more than 24 countries.

On the evening of 22 March 2015, the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) held a ceremony at Shaikh Ebrahim Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research, and a celebratory dinner at Bu Zaboon House at Muharraq City in Bahrain, to honor a lifetime of achievement by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sadek El-Kosheri, a renowned Egyptian judge and arbitrator.

The International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI) hosts an international conference every two years at a different venue. We are pleased to announce that the forthcoming Biennial IFCAI Conference will be held for the first time ever in an Arab Gulf country, namely Bahrain, on 23 March 2015, in association with the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA).
