Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution and Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre Sign MoU to Strengthen Regional Arbitration Ties

Muscat, Sultanate of Oman – 3 December 2025 — The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR) and the Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre (OAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the Muscat Arbitration Days 2025 — held in Muscat from December 2 to 4, 2025 — a leading forum that brought together arbitration professionals.

The agreement was signed by Ahmed Husain, Chief Executive Officer of the BCDR, and Abdullah Al Mandhari, CEO of the OAC, reflecting their shared commitment to enhancing the effectiveness of cross-border arbitration and dispute resolution.

Under the agreement, BCDR and OAC will collaborate to organise joint events— delivered in person, virtually or in hybrid format — aimed at strengthening institutional arbitration ties across the Gulf region. The MoU will also facilitate the exchange of expertise and encourage participation by leading practitioners from both organisations’ arbitration communities in each other’s events.

Commenting on the signing, BCDR CEO Ahmed Husain stated: “This MoU reflects our shared vision with the Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre to strengthen the ecosystem of international dispute resolution across the region. By building institutional partnerships grounded in quality and professionalism, we can better serve businesses and further enhance the Gulf’s standing as a trusted destination for arbitration.”

OAC CEO Abdullah Al Mandhari added: “We are pleased to formalise this collaboration with BCDR. The MoU supports our mission to promote high-quality arbitration services and foster regional cooperation that benefits practitioners, institutions, and the broader business community.”

BCDR welcomed the MoU as a strategic step toward reinforcing its regional outreach and its mission to provide high-quality, efficient arbitration and mediation services. The centre’s modern procedural framework and state-of-the-art facilities complement OAC’s commitment to impartiality, efficiency, and international standards in ADR services.
