Mr. Ahmed Husain, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR), joined a panel discussion on “Enforcement and Asset Recovery Trends Across China, ASEAN and the Middle East,” held on the sidelines of Singapore Convention Week 2026, taking place from 25 to 29 August 2026.
The panel brought together leading voices in cross-border enforcement, including Ms. WANG Weijun, Secretary-General of the Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC); Lingqi Wang of Fangda Partners; Ms. Suosheng Xu, Director of the Cooperation Development Department at SHIAC; and Mr. Rongcheng Huang, Case Manager at SHIAC.
During the session, Mr. Ahmed Husain spoke on enforcement trends in the Middle East, with a particular focus on the Kingdom of Bahrain, offering insight into the region’s evolving legal framework for the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards and its growing role as a jurisdiction of choice for cross-border dispute resolution.
The discussion examined the practical challenges and emerging strategies for enforcement and asset recovery across three key regions, China, ASEAN, and the Middle East, highlighting both the divergences and common ground in how jurisdictions approach recognition, enforcement, and recovery in complex cross-border disputes.
