Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution Participates in “Arbitration in Investment Contracts” Conference at Cairo University

The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR), represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ahmed Husain, participated in the conference titled "Arbitration in Investment Contracts: Applications in International Construction Contracts and Oil and Gas Contracts", held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt at Cairo University on 14-15 February 2026.

Mr. Ahmed Husain took part as a speaker in the conference's second panel discussion, titled "The Role of Arbitration Centres in Resolving International Construction and Oil & Gas Disputes", which was chaired by Professor Dr. Hassan Gomai'e, Professor of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law and Director of the Cairo University Arbitration Centre.

During the session, which featured leaders of regional arbitration centres--including the Vice Chairman of the Board of the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration, the CEO of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration, and the Director of the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration--Mr. Husain presented the experience and jurisdiction of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution and its operational mechanisms as a leading model in the region and as a product of Bahrain's legal advancements. He also emphasized the importance of cooperation among Arab arbitration centres to enhance the arbitration and investment environment across the region.

The conference witnessed high-level attendance from lawyers, practitioners, academics, and international experts, fronted by Professor Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, President of Cairo University, and Professor Dr. Abdel Halim Allam, President of the Arab Lawyers Union. This Bahraini participation aims to build professional bridges and strengthen fraternal ties with Egypt and other countries in the region in the fields of arbitration and law, thereby enhancing its presence on specialized regional and international platforms.
