Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution’s achievements recognized by Global Arbitration Review

At a virtual Awards Ceremony on 1 July 2021, the achievements and standing of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR) were recognized by the influential and widely read arbitration journal, Global Arbitration Review (GAR), in an award for the 2021 regional arbitration institution that impressed.

BCDR is delighted and honored to have received this award in recognition of the progress that it has made since its foundation in 2010, guided always by the highest standards, whether in the quality of its rules, the professionalism of its administrative services, its responsiveness to its user base, its conferences and publications, or its active participation in the work of UNCITRAL.

Today, BCDR stands as a well-respected, vibrant and financially independent institution, with a steadily growing regional and international caseload.

BCDR's dedicated staff include a team of case managers who are proficient in Arabic, English, and French. Its Board of Trustees includes renowned members of the international arbitration community. It strives for diversity in gender and nationality in all its activities.

BCDR has state-of-the-art arbitration and mediation rules that were drafted in three equally authoritative languages by leading international experts.

BCDR has also built a reputation as a center of learning and education. It produces an international law journal, the BCDR International Arbitration Review, and other scholarly publications, which are unmatched in the region.

It trains local and regional practitioners and judges on ADR mechanisms. It co-founded the Middle East Vis Pre-Moot, which has so far benefited some 50 students from over 20 countries.

BCDR represents Bahrain in the important discussions presently taking place in Working Groups II and III of UNCITRAL.

In his acceptance speech, BCDR's CEO, Professor Nassib G. Ziadé, expressed his great appreciation to all those who have supported BCDR throughout the years, and to GAR for this latest recognition.
