BCDR Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ahmed Husain as its new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment was made by the BCDR’s Board of Trustees through Resolution No. 1 of 2024 (in Arabic), issued on September 12, 2024.

Mr. Husain brings extensive experience in law, dispute resolution, and organizational leadership to the role. He has a long history with BCDR, having previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Registrar. His deep understanding of the organization and its mission will ensure a smooth transition and continued progress in providing world-class dispute resolution services.

Before joining BCDR, Mr. Husain was a founding partner of a Bahraini law firm, where he practiced law from 2000 to 2009, including appearances before the Bahrain Court of Cassation. During this period, he actively contributed to the legal field by serving on the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Bar Society and holding the position of Board Secretary from 2007 to 2009. He also worked from 1988 to 1999 as a legal researcher and later supervisor in the Research and Legal Affairs Department of Bahrain’s General Organization for Social Insurance.

Mr. Husain is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and serves on the Advisory Committee on Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation at the University of Bahrain School of Law. He is a former member of the International Advisory Committee of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR/AAA). Furthermore, he has represented BCDR on the Arbitration and Commercial Disputes Committee of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mr. Husain’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Sharia and Law from Al- Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, and a diploma in Management from the University of Bahrain. He is fluent in both Arabic and English.

A dedicated advocate for ADR, Mr. Husain regularly speaks at local and regional events to promote its benefits. He also lectures at Bahrain’s Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, focusing on ADR and the training of legal professionals.
