The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR) participated in the 25th Annual International Bar Association (IBA) Arbitration Day, held from 22nd to 23rd February in Singapore. BCDR was represented by Ahmed Husain, Acting CEO, and Yousif Al Saif, Chief Content Officer and Head of ICT, who were accompanied by Prof. Marike Paulsson, Strategic Advisor to the Economic Development Board. The event covered key topics in international arbitration, including arbitrability and validity of proceedings, ensuring consent to arbitrate, expectations about arbitrators from various perspectives, and award and costs.
On the sidelines, BCDR signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). The MOU aims to promote effective international dispute resolution through joint organization of arbitration events in Singapore and Bahrain, exchange of participation in major events by local arbitration community members, and collaboration to enhance international arbitration practices.
This partnership highlights BCDR's commitment to advancing international arbitration and expanding its global network.
