BCDR CEO Participates in ICCA Madrid 2026 Side Event on “East Meets West: An Encounter in Madrid among Arbitration Institutions”

As part of ICCA Congress Madrid 2026, the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR) participated in the side event titled "East Meets West: An Encounter in Madrid among Arbitration Institutions", co-hosted by the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and Legal 21 Abogados. BCDR was represented at the event by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ahmed Husain.

The event brought together representatives of leading arbitration institutions from across Asia, Europe, Ibero-America, and the MENA region, including the American Arbitration Association-International Centre for Dispute Resolution (AAA-ICDR), Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), CIETAC, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), and the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA), among others.

During the discussions, participating institutions shared perspectives on the current landscape of international arbitration, including insights into their respective approaches, while highlighting the role of arbitration centres and opportunities for enhanced cooperation across jurisdictions.

Mr. Ahmed Husain contributed to the dialogue by presenting BCDR's role within Bahrain's broader dispute resolution ecosystem, including its integration within Global Justice Bay alongside the Bahrain International Commercial Court (BICC), and its approach to delivering efficient and internationally aligned dispute resolution services.

Commenting on the participation, Mr. Ahmed Husain stated:
