The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will jointly host the 4th Conference for a Euro-Mediterranean Community of International Arbitration on 19 November 2017 at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel in Manama's Diplomatic Area. The conference will take place under the patronage of the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Justice.
Bringing together leading international arbitration specialists, the conference aims to promote the Euro-Mediterranean area as a community of states and institutions supportive of investment and consider the role of arbitration in that context.
The conference will begin with morning sessions on the impartiality and independence of arbitrators and the need to avoid conflicts of interest in commercial arbitration and on practical aspects of investment arbitration procedure and transparency.
The afternoon will consist of training sessions on the impartiality and independence of arbitrators and investment arbitration procedure.
The conference will be held in English and Arabic, with simultaneous interpretation. Registration is free for judges and government representatives and US$ 150 (BHD 57) for others.
