Reza Mohtashami KC

Reza Mohtashami KC is an experienced arbitration advocate who has represented clients in more than 80 arbitrations conducted under a variety of arbitration rules in many different jurisdictions.  His practice focuses on complex and high-value disputes arising out of emerging-market jurisdictions with a focus on the energy, telecoms and infrastructure sectors.  In addition to his counsel practice, Reza also sits regularly as an arbitrator.

Currently based in London, Reza has previously practised in Paris, New York and Dubai, where he established the Middle East dispute resolution practice of a leading international firm.  He is frequently engaged in disputes across the Middle East both as counsel and arbitrator.  He holds positions of responsibility at various international organisations, including as a Vice-Chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee. He is recognised as a Thought Leader in arbitration by Who Who's Legal with Chambers and Partners describing him as a "sensational lawyer". He was appointed Queen's Counsel in recognition of his advocacy skills in 2018. He is fluent in English, French and Persian.
