Tom Sikora, BCDR Board of Trustees Member, Joins Second Edition of “Hawar Circle”

Tom Sikora, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR), is taking part in the second edition of the "Hawar Circle," hosted by the Council for International Dispute Resolution of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the Hawar Islands from September 6 to 8, 2026.

Sikora joins a distinguished gathering of arbitration practitioners from jurisdictions including London, Republic of Singapore, French Republic, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Republic of India, and Hong Kong, continuing the discussions launched during the inaugural Hawar Circle.

Sikora's participation reflects BCDR's ongoing engagement with international efforts to review and refine the foundational principles of arbitration, inspired by the Centenary Principles of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in London. This year's edition turns its focus to three key areas: Immunity, Ethics, and the Right of Representation in international arbitration.

Over three days, participants will examine key practical challenges in international arbitration, exchange professional experience, and work collaboratively to further develop principles that support effective dispute resolution. Discussions will feed into the ongoing development of the "Hawar Principles," which remain subject to a globalreview period ahead of their final adoption.
