The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR), with the support of various institutional, academic and professional partners, will be hosting a comprehensive week of training in international dispute resolution from 9 to 14 March 2020 in Bahrain. Interactive seminars and panel discussions will cover theory and practice in the field under the guidance of leading experts and practitioners.
The week's events will get under way on 9 March with a full day of training in mediation organized by BCDR and the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the US Department of Commerce.
On 11 and 12 March, BCDR will host a two-day seminar on international commercial and investment arbitration in partnership with Arnold & Porter.
Wednesday 11 March will mark the launch of BCDR's young initiative, aimed at developing the knowledge and skills of young professionals from the region interested in the field of dispute resolution.
On 12 March, BCDR will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) with a high-level symposium and panel discussion on current issues in international commercial law and arbitration, held in partnership with the Royal University for Women in Bahrain and the Center for International Legal Education (CILE) of the University of Pittsburgh.
Finally, on 13 and 14 March, BCDR and its partners will hold the latest Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Middle East Pre-Moot competition, marking the 10th anniversary of this event.
